A Note From Our Founders

A Note From Our Founders - Attn:Grace

To Our Community,

Welcome to Attn: Grace, and welcome to our blog.  In this space, we will talk openly about the things that have our attention, and at times, the things we believe deserve more of our collective attention.  We will have a particular focus on wellness, but we’ll occasionally explore other issues too, including topics you can suggest by dropping us a line anytime.

When we began building this brand over a year ago, we never could have predicted that we would be addressing a global pandemic and systemic racism in our first blog post, but hey-- 2020 has been heavy.  Even “wellness” itself has been redefined in these unusual and deeply challenging times.  It has come to mean staying home or at least 6 feet away from others; connecting virtually with friends, family and colleagues to combat loneliness; and channeling the rage and heartbreak surrounding the unjust loss of precious Black lives.

While nothing is certain, it is our hope that the struggle, protest and unrest we are witnessing today are just the first early manifestations of an enduring, transformative and long overdue change in our society.  As Deepak Chopra reminds us, “When everything is uncertain, everything that is important becomes clear.”  With this mantra in mind, we wanted to share a few truths we have found to be grounding amidst all of the turmoil 2020 has thrown at us so far.

- We believe that our mental health is fundamental to our overall wellness and wellbeing.  May we stay deeply in touch with our feelings, vowing to tend to our mental state with openness, kindness and sensitivity.

- We believe an end to racism requires an on-going, active commitment to end racism, constantly examining our thoughts and behaviors for unchecked privilege or bias.  May we no longer hesitate to get involved or speak up, because real change requires both tiny acts and grand gestures made by many, over and over and over again.  Systemic inequity is on all of us to solve.

- We believe in gratitude for all of the things that matter most.  We’ve come to realize that so much of what had our attention before was quite superfluous. May we cherish and nurture the things that inspire and ground us, and let go of the things that do not serve us.

We hope that our blog continues to be a safe space for honest, informed discussion about our wellness and wellbeing.  We welcome you to join the conversation on our Instagram or FaceBook pages, or drop us a note at getsocial@attngrace.com. Ours is a diverse community that we intend to nurture and protect, inform and inspire.

Be seen and celebrated, ladies.

Yours,

Alex and Mia
