For so many of us, the New Year is a time to evaluate where we are and where we’d like to change things up. While addressing your bladder leaks is one part of wellness, it’s not everything. As our Medical Advisor, Dr. Barbara Frank OB-GYN, reminds us, “It’s always a good time to check in on yourself and your routines. Our bodies (and our minds!) are constantly evolving, whether you're in your 40's, 50's, 60's or nearing 100.”
With that in mind, we say ‘out’ with resolutions and ‘in’ with healthy new rituals that will benefit us all year long. From choosing better personal care essentials, like our Pads and Barrier Cream that deliver comfort and confidence, to prioritizing daily experiences that enhance our overall sense of wellbeing, this is the year to put yourself first with a personalized wellness ritual.
The Attn: Grace Wellness Ritual = 1 Part Movement + 1 Part Mental Fortitude + 1 Part Feelings + 1 Part Joy
Movement: What does movement mean to you? To us, the goal of movement as part of your wellness ritual is to help you settle into your body and feel connected to your physical form. It is not meant to fix any perceived flaws and doesn’t need to culminate in a 5K race or personal best performance.
Inspiration for your movement element:
- Gentle exercises like chair yoga, pool walking, an evening stroll, or a focused set of Kegels. Need a refresher on how to do them? Here’s our guide.
- A social sport—pickleball, anyone?
- Your favorite cardio workout with high-energy music (with limited jumping if it leads to leaks). Dr. Frank notes “If you are doing HIIT exercises and leaking urine because you think that is the best type of exercise to achieve the physical results you want, think about the impact these stressors (like leaking) can have on your mental wellbeing.”
- Physical therapy or PT exercises, if rehabilitating a specific injury or area of weakness

Mental Fortitude: Just as important as flexing your physical muscles is challenging your mind. Working in a daily mental exercise is an important part of holistic wellness and helps keep you sharp. Getting bored or feeling uninspired? Switch gears! Says Dr. Frank, “Challenge your autopilot. Spend time identifying alternatives for the aspects of your routine that are no longer serving your larger sense and state of wellbeing.”
Inspiration for your mental element:
- The power of language! Reading, writing, or stimulating conversation can all power your mind.
- Puzzles, including word games, Sudoku, or even a 1,000-piece lighthouse puzzle
- Strategy games, like cards, chess, solitaire, or your favorite competitive board game
- Planning your day through vision exercises or list-making. If you’re keeping a voiding diary, that counts too!

Emotional Well-Being: How often do you create space to feel and process your emotions? A daily practice that puts your feelings front and center is an important part of your well-being, helping you identify where you may be having challenges and gain perspective. Says Dr. Frank, “Your mental health is key to everything else your body is doing. We spend so much time focusing on our physical wellness and sometimes slack on our mental health.”
Inspiration for cultivating your emotional element:
- Daily journaling in an app or the old-fashioned way, with a pen and paper
- A gratitude practice: Try writing down 5 things that make you grateful each day
- Open sharing with a trusted friend or therapist
- Guided meditation with breathwork Want a deep-dive on mental health? Check out our blog post, Normalize This: Mental Health
Joy: The secret ingredient to any ritual is joy. While so many resolutions focus on deprivation or or correction, a wellness ritual that truly serves you in 2025 will prioritize positive feelings. Do something every day specifically for the joy it brings and see how it brings greater dimension to every other aspect of your ritual.
Inspiration for your joy element:
- Spend unhurried time on a personal care routine, whether it’s your daily shower or skincare routine, or selecting your clothes for the day. Our body oil is the perfect match for a skincare ritual that leaves you glowing inside and out.
- Create a meal that fuels and inspires you.
- Listen to your favorite music in your favorite way: vinyl? Headphones? Maximum volume in the car?
- Dive into a favorite hobby or explore a new one. Experience the joy of play as an adult.
Through the choices you make in the four elements of your ritual, you’ll naturally bring a deeper awareness to so many dimensions of your wellness, including the best ways to manage and coexist with any bladder leak challenges in this season of life.
Says Dr. Frank, “I truly believe that so much of our overall wellness is created by our mind. Yes, other variables play a role, but your mental health is key to everything your body does.” In 2025, we challenge you to gently turn some of your caregiving attention to yourself and see what happens. As always, we’re rooting for you.
